HPlus ReadMe file ----------------- This file contains installation instructions for the Windows 2000 version of the HPlus software downloaded from the Quantitative Genetic Epidemiology group at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. It includes installation instructions and contact details. Please read the complete instructions before trying to use the software. INSTALLATION ------------ NOTE: This version of HPlus has been tested under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It may or may not work on Windows NT or any other versions of Windows. If you would like to run it on one of those platforms, please get in contact to request a version for that operating system and we shall try to supply it. 1. If you intend to install HPlus on a computer that already has Matlab installed: a. If it is Matlab 7.0.4, continue with this installation. You still need to install the Matlab libraries below in case your installation of Matlab does not have all the required toolboxes. b. If it is a version of Matlab other than 7.0.4, installing this version of HPlus and its libraries may conflict with your current Matlab install. You should contact us to see if we can supply a version of HPlus that was compiled with your version of Matlab, OR you should install HPlus on a different machine. 2. Unzip all the files to a directory on your PC where you would like them to reside. For example C:\hplus - ensure that when you unzip you maintain the file paths (this is usually a default option in zip programs) to ensure that the directory structure is built correctly. 3. Download and MCRInstaller from the QGE web site into the same directory, then double click it to install the Matlab 7.0.4 libraries needed by the software. You will be asked for an installation directory. Choose the same location as you originally unzipped the files (in this example, C:\hplus). 4. The software is installed! To run it, double click on HPlus2.5.exe in your installation directory.
