Mission

The mission of the Quantitative Genetic Epidemiology group (QGE) is to study the complex etiology of cancer as well as other human disorders, and to translate research results into disease prevention and treatment practice.

The primary goals of QGE are:

• Develop new study designs and statistical methods that can be used to investigate the role of genes, environmental factors and their interaction in disease etiology.
• Study the complex etiology of cancer and other human disorders by conducting population-based family studies in collaboration with geneticists and epidemiologists.
• Develop computer software to aid the design of family studies, and to implement the statistical methods developed by our group.
